This was Pheonix, our skinniest horse yet acquired in May 2012. This 14 year old TB mare was covered in fresh wounds, full of worms, sand, and very malnourished.  It just breaks our heart to see an animal in this very poor body condition because someone would wait this long to ask for help.

She had a cushioned stall all by herself to recuperate.  This is the same horse after only 4 weeks of proper nutrition, supplements, de-worming, hoof care, teeth floating and lots of tender loving care:
